Technical assistance services will be rendered for comprehensive building structural analysis which will include among others, 1) Site and Field Investigation; 2) Testing and Inspection; 3) Geotechnical study, 4) Structural analysis and assessment; and 5) Report preparation and presentation.


CORPORATE/AGENCY ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Technical assistance in design and installation of internal environmental management plan/systems at the firm level, focusing on capacity building for war against waste or materials waste minimization, reduction of gas emissions, better use of energy, waste recycling and reuse.


DEVELOPMENT AND CONDUCT OF CUSTOMIZED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

Upon request of the client, Techserv develops and implements customized courses for executive development or selected professional development areas.


Electrical Systems Audit

The audit team will conduct onsite inspection of the electrical system and equipment. We will review existing engineering documentation including the Short Circuit Analysis, Protective Device Settings and available engineering drawings. They will also make a review of the electrical maintenance procedures and equipment, including maintenance practices, analysis of maintenance schedules, etc.


ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT/ Initial Environmental Examination

Techserv assists both the private and government sectors in the conduct of comprehensive studies required in the implementation of major projects with perceived impacts on the natural environment such as water, air, odor and noise and on relevant socio-economic concerns. The preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study for high impact projects or Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) for small industrial/business projects is one of the requirements for the application of environmental clearance from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for a newly approved project of both public and private entities.


HYDROLOGICAL STUDIES FOR FLOOD MITIGATION PLAN

Through the years, Techserv has provided its expertise and resources to both the private and government sectors in the conduct of Hydrological/Simulation Exercises and Flood Mitigation Studies required in the implementation of LGU policies on climate change mitigation and disaster risk reduction, and data collection, analysis and presentation on water flows and patterns using the ridge to reef approach to water resources management and flood mitigation for a specific province, municipality or city.

Technical assistance to national development agencies and local governments, in the areas of water resources planning and management and technical studies on hydrology, surface and groundwater assessments, watershed characterization, water quality assessment, groundwater modeling, and simulation studies for flooding and drainage, irrigation and water supply.


LOCAL DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

This program involves introducing engineering solutions for improving local governance and local economic development as well as enhancing performance management systems at the LGU level.


ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT, PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AUDIT AND COMPETENCY-BASED CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS

As part of systems engineering, the conduct of Organizational Assessment, Performance Audit and formulation of competency-based capacity building programs can be a major undertaking of Mapua Techserv, Inc. as a Third Party Evaluator Mapua Techserv provides technical assistance in capacity building for public entities and private firms for purposes of organizational strengthening and in support of strategic planning activities.


PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK PLAN/CITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN/ PROVINCIAL INVESTMENT PLAN/ TOURISM MASTER PLAN

Based on the physical resource requirements of the City/Provincial Development Plan, a new Physical Development Framework Plan can be formulated based on the vision and strategic goals and objectives of the governing board. Policies, plans, programs and studies for each of the sectors which have impacts on the physical development of the city/province or will require physical resources will be highlighted.


ROBOTICS

The Mapúa Techserv, Inc. is pioneering in development of customized robot and offers other applications. Applications, if customized, may include, among others: i.) As rover to hard to reach areas such as drainage system, caves, collapsed building in rescue operations; ii.) As a survey device in caves to measure distance, in toxic hazardous areas to measure toxicity, nuclear radiation and to collect samples in mining exploration, etc;; iii.) As a Loading device to carry toxic chemicals, dangerous/hazardous areas – toxic chemical, nuclear, threat; iv) As a monitoring device for underwater coral reefs and other marine life; and v) bomb disposal/ building security operations in office buildings, shopping malls, and other public spaces.


SEISMIC SITE SPECIFIC INVESTIGATION

The site-specific investigations vary according to the local geologic conditions that may affect the performance of the proposed or existing structure and to the proximity to faults that are expected to be seismogenic. The investigator(s) is (are) expected to be knowledgeable about the current practice of seismic geology and earthquake engineering and should be aware of the need to provide designers of buildings and other structures with information that can be readily utilized in construction or remodeling projects to reduce seismic risk. Site-specific seismic hazard reports are prescribed for essential facilities, hazardous facilities, major structures and special occupancy structures such as hospitals, schools, and emergency –response facilities.
